Today I’ve got a recipe for you that will make your clean eating heart beat a little faster: oatmeal cookies! I found this recipe at We Heart Fit, but since this recipe is written in Dutch I figured I would make my own recipe post.
What do you need?
- 100 grams of rolled oats
- A ripe, smashed banana
- 1 tiny cup of unsweetened applesauce
- 1 tablespoon of chai seeds
- Pinch of cinnamon
- And whatever you want
Yes, especially that last part is what makes this recipe so great! Add some chocolate chips, peanut butter, some chopped (unsalted and unroasted) nuts or perhaps some dried fruit (cranberries or raisins anyone?). Just use whatever you can find in your kitchen!
This recipe is super easy. Just mix all the ingredients in a bowl, roll a few little balls out of the ‘dough’ and put them on a baking sheet. Flatten the balls with the bottom of a glass and put them in the oven! What works best for me is putting then in the oven on average heat (around 225 degrees Celcius or 437 degrees Fahrenheit) for around 10 to 15 minutes.
Bon appétit or as we say in the Netherlands: ‘eet smakelijk’!
What extra ingredient would you put in these super healthy cookies?
